One of my favourite photographic books over the years has been ‘Right Brain Left Brain Photography’ The Art And Technique of 70 Modern Masters by Kathryn Marx. It is a book I have found myself coming back to time and time again.
Often, we think that because photography is a creative pursuit then we must be utilising our right brains predominantly but this is not so. As you will see in the book, the Author will demonstrate that both sides of the brain are equally important in the creation and the construction of the image. Many different aspects are explored and the images presented help to convey the thoughts of the Author.
Topics covered include, following your instincts, your thought process, different ways of seeing, exercises for tapping both sides of the brain, shooting with purpose, the integration of content and form, plus much more.
From time to time, we find ourselves searching for new ways to approach our photography. ‘Right Brain Left Brain Photography’ is one of those books that help to find and induce your creative spirit.
To your creative spirit!
